Contemporary artist, Scott Plear, was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1952. He received his Bachelor's
degree in Science and Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia in
1976.
For Plear, the process of abstract and non-objective imagery occured through an
initual experiment with watercolour: "Painting has been of intense
interest to me since a very early age...My first painting experience was
with watercolour. This work led me in a natural way to acrylic paint, which
allowed me to play with a wider scale and texture range".
Plear's vibrant and luminous paintings that have been celebrated and exhibited
throughout Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom to resounding
praise.
Plear's work can be found in both public and corporate collections.
