Floyd Kuptana Artist Biography
Floyd Kuptana (b:1964) is an Inuit sculptor from the community of Cape Perry. He began his career as an apprentice to fellow sculptor David Ruben Piqtoukun. He has produced his own work since leaving the apprenticeship in 1992, and now resides in Toronto. His sculptures are noted for their gruesome imagery that relates both to the shamanic beliefs of the Inuit and his own experiences with drug abuse.
